It's rare to find an unlimited plan that offers so much for so little, but that's certainly the case with US Mobile's Unlimited Premium plan. Users get unlimited talk, text, and data. Coverage on the Dark Star network (AT&T) includes unlimited premium data and an unlimited high-speed mobile hotspot. If you opt for the Light Speed (T-Mobile) or Warp (Verizon) networks, you'll receive unlimited premium data and a 50GB mobile hotspot.
In our hands-on testing of US Mobile, we found that 4G and 5G speeds were consistently fast in more populated areas, topping out around 350Mbps near a T-Mobile 5G tower and a whopping 488Mbps near an AT&T one. For that reason, we recommend opting for the AT&T "Dark Star" network if you have solid AT&T coverage near you.
Other perks include 20GB of international roaming data and calling/texting within over 120 countries. Mirroring our general network experience, we found the hotspot performed extremely well in urban areas, with download speeds of around 200Mbps, but less so when testing in a remote area.
One of the best things about going with the Unlimited Premium plan: You have unlimited access to US Mobile's TelePortal tool that allows you to switch networks for free, though that process can be difficult to manage.

Ting's Unlimited Plan offers a relatively low premium data amount (22GB) for the relatively high $45/month. With so many other more affordable MVNOs operating on T-Mobile (including US Mobile and Mint Mobile) we can't find a reason to activate this Ting plan.
Unlimited Month Pass from TextNow
This TextNow plan offers a measly 20GB of full-speed data for a whopping $35.99/month. Their most interesting perk is free calls to Canada. This is a hard pass.
Truly Unlimited plan from Simple Mobile
Despite the name, this Simple Mobile plan still includes deprioritization during busy times. A modest hotspot allowance and a high monthly payment ($47.50/month) make for an unappealing option.

Not all unlimited plans are the same. While all unlimited plans technically offer unlimited data throughout a given month, the way they deliver that data varies depending on the carrier and plan. There are other distinctions too—in speed, priority windows, perks, and more—and it's crucial to understand what you're getting before you activate. Here's what to seek out (and what to avoid) when shopping for the best unlimited plan for you.
What to look for
- If and when deprioritization occurs.
Some unlimited plans, like T-Mobile's Experoence plans, offer unlimited premium (or full-speed) data. For the most part, though, unlimited plans slow your speeds if you exceed your premium data allowance or slow them when the network is especially congested. We've clearly outlined these specifics with every plan above and used them to determine our overall rankings. Many carriers offer low introductory pricing on their plans but raise the prices after a few months. That doesn't mean introductory pricing is a red flag. After all, we love Mint's Unlimited plan, which includes a low rate for the first three months of service. But introductory pricing does require you to be sure you know what you're activating. If you're signing a plan contract, be sure you understand the terms of your plan. - The size of the mobile hotspot allowance.
The best unlimited plans come with generous mobile hotspots, which allow you to turn your cell phone plan into a portable Wi-Fi router.
