A "good internet speed" can vary from household to household depending on what you use the internet for and how many people are connected. For example, regular web browsing requires 1Mbps, video streaming requires 3-25Mbps, and video calling typically needs about 3-6Mbps. Generally, the average household not participating in excessive video streaming or online gaming could consider 15-20Mbps a "good" internet speed.
Although several factors can affect the results of internet speed tests, they are generally great ways to estimate how fast your current internet connection is. In order to maximize the accuracy of your test, try restarting your modem and router, stopping all internet use, restarting your computer, and clearing your web browser’s cache before the start of the test.

If your internet speeds are consistently slower than expected, consider the number of devices connected or the number of people currently using your WiFi. A greater number of people and devices connected, as well as what each person is using the internet for, can impact the relative speed of your internet. If your internet speeds still haven't improved after reducing the amount of people and devices connected, consider the location of your router, the number of applications on each device that are using the internet, and the type of modem or router you have.
