Verizon Internet FAQ's

Verizon offers lightning-fast fiber and affordable 5G Home Internet in select areas.
Verizon's internet plans come in a range of speeds. Their Fios internet plans which run off a fiber optic network offer download speeds of 100Mbps all the way up to 940Mbps.
Good news, Verizon Fios plans come with unlimited data, so you don't have to worry about running out of data and paying any overages...ever.
Verizon Fios is currently available in certain areas of New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Providence, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The availability of Verizon's fiber internet plans is still very limited due to the technology and infrastructure being quite new still. If fiber internet isn't available in your area, you may still be in Verizon's High Speed Internet coverage area. You can check whether there's coverage in your area online.
If you want professional installation by a Verizon technician, then you'll need to pay a $99 fee. If you're eligible for self-installation, then you can install by yourself for free. The $99 fee will be waived if you order Verizon online.
Yes. You will need a Verizon Fios modem and router which you can either buy or rent from Verizon. Once you've signed up for a Verizon internet plan, Verizon can either mail your equipment to you or you can pick it up at one of their store locations. If you have your own compatible modem, you can also bring your own. If you have a Verizon High Speed Internet plan (DSL), then you'll need a compatible modem and router (for WiFi) which you can also supply yourself, buy or rent from Verizon. The $15/mo. Router rental fee is waived if you order Fios Gigabit Connection!
If you feel as though your internet is running slow, first do a quick speed test to see exactly what speeds you're experiencing. If this is far from the speeds you're expecting out of your Verizon internet plan, there may be a number of things slowing you down. Things like your computer processor, the number of applications you have running, the number of people using your connection, and the quality and condition of your internet wiring can all affect your internet speeds. Try closing all open applications and disconnect other devices that may be using your internet and try running another speed test. If your internet is continually slow, contact Verizon's customer support.
Changing your Verizon WiFi network name and password can be done by logging into your Verizon account and following the steps. Be sure to pick a strong and secure password.
No! There are no contracts with Verizon Fios!

Verizon Fios Customer Service & Reputation

Verizon Fios doesn't get the best customer reviews when it comes to their customer support team.

Many customers have complained about the difficulty in getting in touch with someone from the customer service team and also receiving incorrect bills.

In general, Verizon Fios has a reputation to have fast internet speeds (as is expected from a fiber internet plan) but with high prices (which is also expected).

Why Choose Verizon Fios?

If fast internet is what you want, then fast internet is what you're going to get. With Verizon Fios' super fast internet speeds, you'll forget what the dreaded buffering wheel even looks like.

Yes, it's going to cost you a little bit more than your traditional cable and DSL plans have cost you in the past, but it's also likely going to be much faster than you're used to.

Not everyone has access to fiber internet, in fact, most of the country is still waiting for these plans to be available to them. If you're one of these lucky people, take advantage of it.

Although Verizon offers both fiber internet and DSL internet plans, it's clear that they are all about fiber. Their promotional efforts are aimed at selling their Verizon Fios plans, with their DSL plans being offered if you live outside of their fiber network coverage area.
