T-Mobile Will Pay You $1,000 to Switch from Verizon - Details

WhistleOut
02 June 2017

T-Mobile has launched a promotion for Verizon customers to switch, a promotion that worth up to $1,000 in real money.

In fact, it's the best switching promotion that any carrier has launched, simply because the main catch in these switching promotions has been removed -- there's no trade-in required.

What's the deal? For any Verizon customer with one of the lastest iPhone models or a Google Pixel, T-Mobile will buy out your remaining payments from Verizon.

Sure, you've heard that before, right?

Wrong.

All the deals in the past required you to trade-in the phone to T-Mobile, meaning they paid for your remaining phone payments with another carrier allowing you to switch, but you had to hand that phone in to T-Mobile and then start over on a new phone and plan with T-Mobile.

Not this deal.

For example, if you have 20 payments of $27 left with Verizon, you owe Verizon $540. If you try to switch, they'll charge you the $540 in one hit. However, T-Mobile will pay you $540 on a gift card in 15 days. Then you can switch to T-Mobile, keep that original phone and pay just $70/mo for Unlimited data on T-Mobile ongoing - no starting over and having to buy a new phone. No more phone payments.

What's the Secret? The secret in this deal is that you can take your eligible Verizon phone to T-Mobile and it works on their network. By paying off your phone for you, you can go directly to T-Mobile and your phone payments are done. You're only paying for the plan.

What's the Catch? There is one catch. You need to take an insurance plan on your phone called (Premium Device Protection Plus) which is $15/mo

Bill Comparison - What You Save: If you have an iPhone 6S with Verizon on their $85 Unlimited plan, you'd be paying about $95 - $100/mo for the plan including taxes, then a further $27/month for the phone in repayments. Your total bill would be about $122-$127/mo based on where you live. Still too much? Head to our homepage to compare cell phone plans

With this deal, T-Mobile will pay out your remaining phone payments. You can bring that iPhone 6s to T-Mobile, get unlimited data for $70/mo with autopay and then $15/mo for insurance - a bill of $85/mo - no taxes and fees to be paid.

Here's the Phones

Remember, you must be a Verizon customer and have had the phone for more than two months

The full list of payout amounts is listed below.

Remember: The Buyout is Based on Remaining Fees

If you've almost paid off your phone, then you receive less money than people who have 22 payments left -- the buyout is based on the remaining payment amount (you need to have had your Verizon phone for at least 2 months).

1. Check the phone below, your ownership length with Verizon and expected payout below.

2. Switch to T-Mobile by jumping on their unlimited data plan for $70/mo

3. Take your phone to a T-Mobile store with proof that it is a Verizon phone and then you'll get your pre-paid Mastercard for the correct amount within 15 days.

  • Bring Your Own Phone to T-Mobile: Customers can bring along their unlocked, GSM-compatible phones for service on T-Mobile. Just make sure that the device supports T-Mobile's LTE bands and 3G frequencies; you can check here
  • Tethering: T-Mobile's unlimited ONE plan includes unlimited hotspot data at up to 3G speeds. Customers can add ONE Plus to get unlimited Smartphone Mobile HotSpot data at up to 4G LTE speeds.
  • Taxes & Fees: One of the biggest perks of T-Mobile is that all taxes and fees are included in the price of their plans.
